My earliest flower memory is filling my pockets with Rose Moss (Portulaca grandiflora)
from my mother’s rock garden. What’s yours?

Our Story

I’ve always grown a big vegetable garden and maintained a large perennial border on our generational farm located near Kewanee, Illinois. Windy Hill Farm has been in my husband’s family since 1852. Like many gardeners, 2020 was a time to relish growing flowers and sharing them with caregivers and friends to bring a little joy to everyone’s day. This led to my discovery that flower farming was a thing.  The next year I planted 1900 square feet in cut flowers. In 2023 I doubled that and added 400 dahlias.  I plan to grow my small business and continue the legacy of Windy Hill Farm Est. 1852.
